Shots are Online!

Well after about 36 hours of uploading, the photos from last week are finally online in the store. My apologies for the wait.

Rumor has it the TNHP and NCHP will be out pretty hardcore Saturday. Take it easy!

Weekly Update - April 27, 2006

Sorry for the late update. Photos from last week are uploading to the store here.

My cousin J.D. Hyatt back home in Sparta, TN was in a motorcycle accident Saturday and did not survive. 10 years younger than me, he was my little buddy growing up and we spent a lot of time together. Please be careful out there in city traffic. =(

This weekend is going to be crazy...VFRs, Warriors, Triumph Rat Raid, Busa Bash, AC Cobras, and Cherokee Survivor's Rally. Should be a helluva show!

Honda S2000 "Wakin' the Dragon" rally was last weekend based out of Fontana Village.

The little roadsters were dominant, so we have a lot of highlights of them here...

Woohoo!

It rained for a bit late Friday and early Saturday. It worked out really good for the cars though, because they had the road mostly to themselves.

They had a custom decal on the hood, and many people appearantly signed the car.

The TNHP conducted a sting on Saturday...kind of ironic considering the S2000s are one of the most well-behaved groups you will ever see out there. They used the helo to catch a few people for passing on the double yellow, and got several motorcyclists for improper license plate.

They still got in a lot of time to enjoy the area though.

This little beast not only looked impressive, it was one of the sweetest sounding cars on the scene. I could hear him coming and going for miles.

This poor guy's homebrew trailer jack-knifed on the way in (wet roads) and swung around hitting the side of the car. Remember folks, plywood trailers with 8 inch wheels do not corner like Japanese sportscars. ;)

Classic shot of yellow on yellow.

Cool late-day S2K shot

A few Acura NSX's came out to make the S2000 owners, and a lot more of us, drool.

Now that's a sweet Honda!

A few other car types were tagging along as well. I assume they are ex-S2000 owners or just close friends with the group.

Mean looking SRT-4. I had the eyelids on my (NA) Neon too, nice touch.

Handful of scooters hit the curves too. A lot of those originally coming backed out due to the weather from what I understand. Too bad, there was a lot of good riding.

Intersting details there.

Military Police on the Gap?

Lovin' this guy's form.

Again there were a lot of cyclists out last weekend. Let's do our best to share the road with each other, it's crowded out there sometimes.

I hope you peddlers are enjoying the show. Thanks for doing all you can to let faster traffic pass. (single file, space apart ;)

Some cyclists are pretty fast on these tight roads. Don't underestimate them, especially on the downhill sections.

Remember they're just regular folks with families too.

Expect to see a lot of these this weekend.

Couple of Sportys out playing together.

Nice tire detailing. Around here, it takes longer to add the color than it does to wear the tread down. ;)

We've got a regular playground around here with the rivers and roads. Bring all of your toys!

Mark and Connie came down from Ohio to spend a little time with Ron and Nancy and help run the Tail of the Dragon shop setup at the southern end of Deal's Gap.

Tight shot with a little sparky effect.

There's a good reason to keep a little in reserve approaching blind corners!

Custom custom!

If anyone gets hungry, Papa John's delivers to the Gap now appearantly.

Poor guy. (or lucky lady?)

All smiles.

Yeah that's going to be some good video.

Another 2-up knee down shot. Nice!

Cooperative passenger!

Honeymooning on the Gap?

I think there was a rod run (car show) in Pigeon Forge last weekend. Didn't see many, but a few classics rolled through.

Smooth flat black sled.

Jacob's girl Mindy (aka "The Minge") posing Sears Catalog style. (thanks to Travis Smith for the softening work)

MG has a tough commute to work.

Come to the Gap and grind your Goldwing down at approximately 32mph.

He walked right out of the mud wall. And yes, I have lens envy.

I just can't take a bad shot of Brian...I don't know how many times he's been on the front page.

Another shot of that damn Suzy. I know y'all are sick of her right... ;)

Nice riding! Those pipes look painful.

"Hey Harry, it feels like I'm running at incredible speed!" --Lloyd Christmas

Cool silhouette of Josh's Mini at the Overlook.

Yes we're all fascinated with his aux. lights.
