...Roger that.
... 10-4, Good buddy!
Let the rider beware!
I have ridden in a lot of different places but the area around Robinsville, Bryson, etc has to be the most noted for biker to biker, and cage to biker communication. Use that gesture in other parts of NC and the rider wouldn't have a clue what you meant.
I see it used around Mt. Palomar a lot.
What ever happened to motorists flashing high-beams in warning to other motorists approaching speed traps?
A few here and there, but not many. Us against them, dangit!
Damn modulating/flashing headlights for one.
Also, on long straight roads where you spend a lot of time looking into their headlights, flashing the highbeam works well. On curvy roads where you only get a couple seconds, and it already looks like the light flashes sometimes as it sweeps past your eyes, using hand signals is clearer communication.
I actually did not know he's signaling "Cops Ahead", just knew he was signaling something and I was lamenting the dearth of road manners.
