I hear all these comments on websites and forums about how aweful this place has become...
...usually by people who haven't been around in years, meanwhile we take picture after picture like this of people smiling and having a great time. All I can figure is some folks are just trying to keep everyone away so they can have it to themselves. Meanwhile it's dead empty 90% of the week and there's no one there to enjoy it.

AMA members just voted it 3rd best road in the USA.
I find the pics of idiots who come around BLIND corners in the WRONG lane rather unsettling.
I will ride The Dragon (weekdays ONLY!) at some point in the future, making sure NOT to stop at the Ass-Hat Store!
Lane crosser highlight shots last week:
Monday-1
Friday-3
Saturday-1
Sunday-1
I've gotta say, the times I go through (granted, they're off peak) I don't really run into much. I haven't ridden there on a weekend during the season in a while though.
One thing that frustrates me is that when I'm on my bike, I ALWAYS wave when people pull over for me. In the Jeep, I ALWAYS pull over for others... but rarely do they wave / say "thanks". shrug.
PS: It's a fun road and I'm glad to see so many people get to appreciate it. I think it's easy to take for granted sometimes.
No matter what...I always promote The Dragon, I have your advertisement posted on my car and I live in Iowa! I have some who know it and some ask where it's at cause they want to go!
I always have a special place in my heart for the Dragon! :)
I love this place. I have to ride my Roadstar at the speed limit. To fat and old for a kneedrager but still love to hear the floor board drag.
This road is a blast to drive. From what I have seen the lane crossers are mostly first time visitors and dont know the seriousness of what they do. The only thing that frustrates me is the traffic. I like to ride thru early in the morning or just after dark. That is when most of the slow riders are either asleep or afraid to be out there.
Curves, curves, curves = smiles, smiles, smiles. I've never met anyone that didn't love the ride even though some are scared at first. It's like good sex, you just can't do it once and call it a day. :)
Been there, in a Redhedd's Ford, got the sticker, hope to come back next year, rent Wheeler's SV and stay for a few days. So different than SoCal.
