im black, and am on the hill from time to time, but have been wondering what people REALY think about me being up there. most are cool when im around, but more times than not in small counties in the hills they would just as soon not have me there.
it a good sign for me when smart a$$ replies follow a racist sounding comment.

Speaking from the "other" side, no white folks have any reason to "hold back" how they feel when they're around me...I don't recall ever hearing anyone make any kind of comment when hanging out on the side of the road concerning skin color.
Doesn't really apply to all small counties in the hills, but sometimes small town people just frown on out-of-towners in general. If you look for a reason to make it about color you can always find one, but that may not actually be the case...some people are equal-opportunity hateful asses and we ALL have to deal with it. ;)
