A lot of head tapping going on Saturday...

...with a handful of squad cars running around going where they were needed.

Thanks guy. This can be a real license saver. I had a guy on a bike give me a warning while in my Z the other day. It's really appreciated.

I have a question.
If a police officer is parked along the road, how far past him/her do you use the helmet tap? Does tapping your helmet help when you are 3-4 miles past the officer?

I give the old tap of the helmet for several miles. I think that 3-4 miles is perfectly appropriate. I'd rather ruin someone's ride down the road over a false alert than to have the cop ruin his ride because I didin't. Likewise, after someone warns me I'll tone it down for 5-10 miles.

So remember kids, as you are leaving the Dragon, Tap your head. LOL If I was someplace at normal speed, yeah 4-5 miles I would stop giving signals, let someone closer handle it. On the dragon 4-5 hard corners you can stop. By then you are probably meeting the next LEO anyway.

^^^Agreed. I also consider the amount of motorcycle traffic on the road. If the road is busy, it is more likely that someone closer to the LEO will warn oncoming riders.
