I think this is illegal (in my state at least). The idea is that the helmet takes away from your ability to hear (sirens, traffic, etc) when driving a car. But..they have the top down so maybe there are in the clear.

In cars head trauma used to be the #1 cause of death in a car wreck.

Don't know if that still holds but that's too "funny" for it to be against the law to wear a helmet (that may save your life!) in the car.

Shoot, could be illegal here in RI, headphones and such are.

Whenever some non-motorcyclist pinhead starts-in on the
"ohhhhhh oooooh
there should be a helmet law" crap because of head injury, I give them the old 'hey buddy the #1 cause of death in a car is head injury so let's mandate drivers have to wear helmets, only fair, right? right?'

Not sure why a helmet and / or headphones would be illegal though. I mean, are deaf folks not allowed to drive because they can't hear? Geez, I hope that's not the case... I'd sound a total fool. But it would surely be news to me. Can you hear anything driving 55 mph with your stereo turned up loud?
