He knows enough about this site to flash the sign yet still insists on using this stretch of road.

if you notice in the post" he had a proffesional escort"

He has a professional escort...so he could professionally put everybody else in danger. An escort doesn't make this safe, just slightly less moronic. Crossing the center line is illegal regardless.

yep but he's going to do it regardless no matter how much you complain about it so im just happy he had an escort

not a truck restricted route. get over it. i take it you have no clue on what it takes to operate a 70 foot vehicle in tight turns such as this. if the driver stays in his lane then the rear of the trailer WILL hit the side of the mountain. Everyone needs to slow down , pay attention, and enjoy the ride.

ussenterp65, my man, you prove the "no trucks" people right with your argument!

Trucks MUST occupy BOTH LANES to make sharp/blind corners on The Dragon is what you're sayin, yes?

What, so *fuck* ALL other road users?!?

And tough shit if they get killed/injured/ran off the road whilst you take up the WHOLE road in a BLIND corner?!?

Man, that is a downright BLATANT DISREGARD for your fellow motorists..cripes

Wonder if that "trap" is anything like being "trapped" between axles 4 and 5.

I was there working not playing around or taking a short cut. The company I work for has powerlines on those mountains along with Fontana Dam.( Ever seen the powerline at the over-look ? ) I unloaded at Fontana Dam a piece of equipment and then went to Calderwood and picked up another piece of equipment that I hauled to Knoxville for repairs. We did that as safe as possible I had one of the best ahead of me in a polit car stopping and flagging traffic with communication between us.

Thanks for speaking up and keeping it civil Joe. With the recent events and repeated problems that some drivers have caused, the enthusiast community is pretty fired up right now. Those of you who basically HAVE to run something from one side of the Gap to the other and do it right have to catch a lot of the crap aimed at those who just bust through without proper planning.

I will be the first to appologize seeing how I was the first to comment. I appreciate that you did plan ahead and use an escort.

My comments were solely a rebuttal to ussenterp65's argument.

And ussenterp65, I'm sure you're a good guy, I just thought your attitude was kinda flippant.

Peace
