Weekly Update - August 10, 2011
As always, shots from the last nine years are up in Our Store here, and be sure to check out the recent additions to the area scenery/wall art selections. Below are some of the highlights from last week.
DON'T FORGET to hit the "Older Posts" link at the bottom of each page to get to the end. ;)
As most of you probably heard, we lost a good one last week...Dewight "Ike" Woodard. He was a regular from Nashville with a wife and two young daughters. The incident was the result of impact with a semi, and the wheels are finally in motion to get something done about this problem...for now there is a petition up here that you can sign if you haven't already. May not do much, so don't let it lull you into thinking "I've done my part.", there may be more work needed soon, but this is a start.
This week has been slow, Sturgis going on and all...good time to get out there and enjoy the mild weather and reduced traffic if you can. Not much on Tha Calendar either...March of Dimes Bikers for Babies ride Saturday, and I know of a couple of car groups planning drives through the area.
On to the highlights!

What we need is for some backwoods redneck to go Easy Rider on a trucker.
On behalf of Ike's friends and family, thank you. Your post is awesome man. I made a lot of progress today with the federal department of transportation and have been promised some answers on Monday. I will keep everyone posted. Please continue to sign the petition!
How awful :(
Freaking Semis need to be permanently banned from the Gap.
Petition signed.
Gix, thank you for your time in working with the DOT. Where can we follow your progress?
It's so sad that it came to this.
Very sad for something that was so easily preventable. I signed it and also put a posting on my blog for people to link to and sign....
