Help me out here. It didn't look like he was coming in that hot. Did he just throttle up to much?
It's sort of a double apex, and in the shot above he is between them. He was a little hot for the second apex and tucked the front.

And that's why we gear up. Sucks, but glad he's alright. Cosmetic damage to the bike sucks though.

I saw a poster awhile back that had a racer walking away from his bike. It said "Gear, it's better to walk away in disgust, than to ride away in an ambulance"
I'm glad he survived.
