I've said it before and I'll say it again...
You stiffen the suspension and put enough rubber under it, you can make anything go fast around corners. As long as it's not a limo.

fox body mustangs can pull 1g or better on skidpad with the right suspension. Steeda G-track and I forget the other brand.
Griggs Racing and Maximum motorsports. Tubular K-members, front and rear coilovers, torque arm, tubular lower control arms, panhard bar or in the case of griggs you can add a watts link to the rear and convert the front to a full SLA suspension.

With those tires a damn Town Car would get 1g in the corner. :)
