An old buddy bought a used one in
'88, then rode it straight home from dealers (bout 25 miles).
Upon arriving home the thing was overheating like you read about.
Upon closer inspection he discovered that they *drained the oil* and Forgot to Refill it!
He kept it anyway and guess what, he is still riding that sucker today!
I love these things. I've never ridden one, and even though I know it's heavy enough to leave a mark on the pavement as it goes by, it just epitomizes Honda's '80s superbikes.
