The civil war started over states rights,high taxes on cotton,half way through the war lincoln added in the slave thing to create a war within the south,lincoln owned 50 slaves at the time.States rights are being took away again by our worthless government today as they were back then.The rebel flag was designed by a black man,the flag had nothing to do with race as many people portray it.They were over 700,000 people died and if you live in the south,odds are your family fought on the side of the rebel flag,way to step on ur family's heritage,you touch my rebel flag and see what happens,try me!

Heritage; not hate... That's how I prefer to look at it. It's part of our country's history - like it or not. Funny how we bastardize so much of our own already, and some even want to bastardize our own country and it's history. Whether or not is represents a "nice" or "pleasant" time in our country's history, you cannot forget about it or attempt to change that history. Nothing wrong with remembering where you came from and what make you you today.
I'm not from the South at all, yet I see no problems with this flag flying, so long as it's being flown in a respectful manner, and I see absolutely nothing wrong with it here. Burn some crosses or fly it w/ Nazi flags, then I'll take issue with it.

They simple seceded from the Union, which was perfectly within their rights. Lincoln started a war to bring them back in, which was actually in complete violation of the US Constitution.
