I think he is referring to the rubber laid down on the asphalt by the previous bike.
Correct, combined with the "Slide Area" sign in the background. I so want to get a shot of the S2k drifting around that turn in better lighting.

The attitude of the VFR does not suggest it left those marks nor does the pony tail[girl].Forgive me for being a skeptic !
The VFR is one of the best bikes ever made BTW along with others most being Honda's
The VFR did not leave those marks as I am the one following her BUT she could very well have if she wanted to. I learned the lesson to NEVER attempt to follow her on that VFR...
Those marks were done by one of our Locals.
Never underestimate a VFR as Soulpatch has stated. They can leave very nice blackies too.
