Ruined my (SECOND!) GoPro HD to get this...attached the camera to my kite, and when it "landed", (using that term loosely here) it was facing camera-down and scratched the lens. Enjoy!

I believe GoPro sells replacement cases for much cheaper than buying a replacement camera.
It is a crazy cool shot!
They do, they even sell just the lens for the case, but I had it out of the case to save weight. There wasn't much wind that day and every ounce added to the kite makes it harder to launch, so I had just the unit taped to the underside of the frame. :(

FYI, The clear cases dont hold up well when tossed down the road either. $39.99 lesson.
(Almost) Any sacrifice for the shot! Learned it from my pops... Niagara Falls/Maid of the Mist? Always came back with a too wet camera, but some priceless images fo sho.
Now I'm curious about the first ... how did it die?
I dropped it while boarding a boat at the end of a night scuba dive...lost it. :(
Sucks about the GoPro but at least you got the footage this time. Great shot BTW.
