Yeah just got it back a couple of weeks ago. Stroked and bored to 2.4L, but it's not running perfect...wants to over-boost now, I think because the stock turbo is too small for the increased displacement. Manual controller turned all the way down, but it still tries to make over 30lbs (as high as the gauge reads) before 4k rpm. It also stutters and misses on heavy throttle, probably needs to be re-tuned.
think the new 2.4 may be pumping too much (to hot? not hot enough?)exhaust at the little stock turbine wheel?
I would figure it has a bov for closing throttle and over boost protection, but what about the wastegate on teh exhasut side? is it controllable? May slow the turbo speed down, if that is the issue.
Or bigger turbo!!!
I thought that was the case, but now I'm thinking the wastegate may not be getting actuated by the solenoid...it's stuck closed essentially. Need to diagnose that by bypassing the manual boost controller, but it's FREEZING cold outside, and about to dump snow. (again)
