Road Conditions - Friday, Feb. 26th
*Update Mar 5, 2010*
Road's in much better shape. There's just a haze of white leftover, but no real piles to worry about. I went out today and made a couple of runs in the car, saw 3 locals on bikes and a few civilians. I had a great time with the top down, sun shining, and practically no traffic.
Had a few people ask about road conditions, so we went for a drive and got a few pics for ya below. There are several salt piles to watch for, and a white haze over the whole thing, but the majority of it is grippy and close to cleared off. We had a good fun drive with no tense moments. A couple of days of traffic or a good rain should take care of what's left, but that's not going to happen before this weekend.

I was listening to Sirius NASCAR Radio last week and Kyle Petty mentioned his 2010 Kyle Petty Charity Ride will ride the dragon between Chattanooga and Asheville in early May.
It was nice meeting you Darrel & Lori! I had a blast while I was up there with you guys!

Is the resort open? Their website shows hours beginning March 1.
Yeah they should be open as of today, and we're supposed to get a inch and a half of snow tomorrow. =/
When I go to dealsgap.com it's like the movie "Groundhog Day". It's always Wednesday, January 13.
Darryl, I have the videoes uploaded.

Excellent! Thanks Andy.
Hmmmmm, wonder how it is now since we've had a little precip this week? Possibly salty again is my guess.
It's not bad...there's just a haze of white on the road, no real piles to worry about like a week ago. I just got back from making a couple of passes in the car and had practically clear runs...saw 3 bikes total out there.
Thanks KB, I appreciate the road report. I think I'll head that way later today.
Thanks again KB, we had a great time over your way today.
