Oh boy, I get to use big words. Those are just clouds formed by orthographic lifting. The wind forces warm, moist air to go up over the islands. As it rises, it cools (the standard adiabatic lapse rate is 3.5 degrees per 1000 feet for those of you playing along at home) When the temperature and dewpoint collide, the water vapor becomes visible.
