Weekly Update - May 28, 2009

Photos from the last 6 years are available in Our Store here.

Day late on the update this week. We attended a trackday at VIR Monday that combined Elite Sportbike with Phil Wicks (Mini Cooper) Driving Academy. I participated in the Phil Wicks school and Lori took pictures. We've got some more highlights and videos from that, but that'll have to come later.

Last weekend being Memorial Day holiday kept things hopping. Several small groups and many vacationers were out enjoying the area. This weekend we'll see the big Nissan Z car annual rally, plus Skyline Owners USA Meet, Kneedraggers 101, and annual GSX1100G Spring rally. Let's all play nice together out there.

On to the highlights!

Last weekend was a busy one...

Lots of cruisers, like the L.A.M.A. group.

Let's talk about the exhaust of the new R1 for a minute....

After hearing the stock exhaust, I thought it was the worst sounding bike I'd ever heard.  Even their commercials make the bike sound pathetic to me.  This was the first one I had heard with aftermarket exhaust, and let me tell you point blank:  Best sounding sportbike on the street.  It sounded like a V4 from an old V-Max or something...just awesome hotrod audio.

Now see, that's just bad form...

...elbows locked, toes too far forward on the pegs.  You're gonna crash and skin your bike up!  ;)

I'm not sure who designed that rear seat...

...but they knew what they were doing.  And it was probably a woman.  That's all I'm sayin'.

He made it across with a little help from David...

He had stopped to just hang out and soak up some sun I suppose.
