SWIFT=SomeWierdoIdiotsForTrying to take a semi on the dragon, or SWIFT=imeSetihWnIstoggaFowT if read backwards! Again, read it backwards!! [just kidding drivers] If paid by the mile, why drive a road at 10-15mph, when you could run an interstate at 60-70mph? Not to mention the safety and concern for other drivers and riders on the road! Funny how you rarely see a owner/operator on this road! Could it be the fact that owner/operators see the potential income loss to wrecker companies and possible liability in case of a fatal accident? JBHURT never came through as often as SWIFT. KB needs a CAT D9 dozer to run these asshats off the road, so they know how it feels to meet something bigger and badder than they are in their lane. Hats off to LEOs and locals for escorting and warnings to people on this road.

Interstate 3 will solve all your problems. Problem is they will put it through the Dragon. Highway 129 looks good on a map.....in real life its better for bikes, but sucks for trucks. EPA wants all new construction to be on existing corridors (over an already made roadway). Look at a map from anywhere in N.C. to go to Knoxville see what route you find. I hope they can find a less direct route and leave the Dragon. Our complaints about trucks have been heard. They will make it easier for them to pass.

martvol, so what can we do to prevent this from happening? write the governor, make calls, or what? i love the dragon, its a beautiful place to ride, even tho i only get to come down once or twice a year. its about 350 miles one way for me to the gap. i got ink, paper, and a phone. post numbers and addresses and i'll do all i can to prevent this. changing the dragon wouldn't stimulate the economy for that area in my opinion. if not for the dragon, me and my buds wouldn't have any reason to be there. we have plenty of 4 lane roads with no respectable curves here in western ky to ride on. i recomend the dragon to everyone i see on a bike, be it a cruiser, sportbike, or otherwise. nice pull offs now! hope the dragon is left as is!
