OMG..... talking bout a bad ass.... you go boyee.
Now, that's just insane!
Got to hang out with him around the fire at night, crazy Canadian.
He's going to the Bonneville salt flats to attempt a world speed record with the thing. It's geared to run at least 200 MPH.
Said on the interstate on the way down he can cruise at 100MPH doing 2000 rev's.....
Bet it sound great.
That is insane... but the brick like aero will kill the top end.
Yes, that'll do just nicely.
2k revs at 100 per translates into 4k at 200. But, can he stay hooked up? Time will tell.
Good Canadian that he was, Gino had an ax in his trailer...he was the one that built the fire when I was at Deal's Gap...along with a little help from half a quart of my motor oil. LOL. Very cool guy, very cool home made built from scratch bike/trike/whatever.
I don't really think hooking up will be the issue. Bikes have the problem more so because of two factors.
1. There contact patch is about 3 inches wide.
2. There's only about 300-400 lbs on the rear tire
In contrast he has about a 1 foot contact patch and around 700lbs on the rear tire.
The problem will be aerodynamics. He said when he gets home he's going to fabricate some body panels to close in the cockpit and make a more streamlined shape by removing the lights and such.
The thing I am concerned about is this, If you look at the picture the front of his vehicle looks very much like the bow of a boat. This is going to catch a LOT of wind at 200MPH...Too much down fore to keep the front end down and He'll loose top speed. Not enough and he may flip. A re engineering of the front may be in order.
Then again I may be over thinking this, but I'd rather be safe than sorry doing that kind of speed on salt.
