You can't park there!

The week/weekend was not without incident, as is often the case with a group this large.

Just kiddin'. Sorry to see such a nice machine in such a bad way. Hope the guy/gal walked away alright.

I would love to know what it took to put that car in that position.

Anyone actually see the accident?

Wait, that's not the tree of shame!

Guess it's safe to assume he wasn't driving within the posted speed limit?

holy f'd up Z car...Yikes!

Nice thing about cars, driver may be a little sore after this one, provided belts were used.

Pretty sure this was the same guy drinking at hellbender talking trash about how sportbikers hang their head over the double yellow. Why censor the plate KB? I'm sure he did a fair bit of lane crossing hanging his car up like that.

This happened pretty early in the week...late Tuesday 5/26. When did you hear that discussion, and was it presumably before or after a crash? I'm not going to throw around any accusations without solid evidence.

I wasn't there, Jack got the shot. If he had asked us not to post the shot, we would probably not have posted it. I gather he was ok with it being posted, just asked that we blur the plate.

Whoever it was, assuming they crashed their car, they didn't have any room to be talking junk about other riders. BUT, many motorcyclists, of ALL types, do spend way too much time hugging and leaning across the double yellow. It is PATHETIC considering how wide the lane is relative to the vehicle, and I have to take evasive action in some way almost every single time I drive a car or truck to or across the Gap.

Oh, and I don't agree that a crash is necessarily indicative of lane crossing. Not saying that this person didn't cross, just that sometimes people screw up, run into a corner too deep, in this case a left-hander, and run off the road/up the bank.

Clearly a sign of exssive speed was involed,,, Any sports car with a over aggressive driver - Will be Bitten,,, This Dimwit Moron may or may not have learned the hard way,,, who knows? - I Hope, due that Person Ignorance, that No one did not get Hurt from such Ruthless actions on this Public Road, with Posted Speed Limit signs. Take You B.S. imature attitude and retake your Drivers Ed over again!

Chill man, he made a mistake. There is no reason to just bash him like you did. You also can't assume it was a result of speed, changing CD or fishing for a radio that fell under the brake pedal. Yes he deserves a little being made fun of but your just over the line.

To whose car it is, I do hope you learned your lesson. Now you can pass your knowledge to others you know about what not to do.

So. You guys drive the Dragon at the posted speed limits? Okay. Wonder where you live as it sure as hell isn't anywhere I have ever lived. People ignore the speed limits everywhere else but the special place you are from. Still would like to know where that is .. you being so law abiding and all.

Oh, so that's what they mean when the say "backing it in".

The discussion didn't happen the same day. It was actually about a month ago. Basically there was a couple out front of the hellbender drinking beer and the guy was going on and on about sport-bikes and generally bad riding(which I can't disagree with being pretty often seen at the gap). I never said anything, but I thought it was pretty entertaining that someone would be sitting at a bar drinking, and then shortly leave to blast around and come back to run their mouth about people being unsafe on the road. If I have the story jacked and its not the same person sorry. But its pretty well the twin of the car I was thinking of.

K03: Gotcha...yeah that's some pitiful hypocrisy right there, considering we are all enthusiasts and should be sticking together rather than finding ways to further separate ourselves like a bunch of dumb thugs.

Indiferentemente de los motivos que ocasionaron el accidente, tienes que ir rapido para poder colocar el auto en esa posición.
Don't you? ;)

And FYI, "FightersDomain" is our photog Jack Rose, who took the photo.

I am not sure of the exact circumstances but I think it was a one lane slide. Basically white line and then dirt. If you saw the entire seen it's almost self explanatory.

Driver lives VERY far away. Probably not the same guy.

To you folks who stopped to help/ man the corners until the flatbed arrived, "good lookin out" as we say in the hood.

Jimbozcrazy said...

Hell, this could have been anything ya'll. Yeah, he might have been moving along at a pretty good clip, but he "could" have been running 30 mph too. 30 mph in a cage on many of those corners is a hustle. Prolly not for this car... One day I remeber a minivan (think it was a minivan, not possitive) spewing tranny fluid accross 7 of the 9 miles between the lookout and the resort. I was lucky, the guy 3 minutes in front of me wasn't. No outrageous speed required on that day.

Either way, glad no one was hurt...

Watch that first step getting out, it's a ral hum dinger!

I hope I don't come across as the devil's advocate here, but I'm going to take Jean Franco's side on this one.

Sí, usted puede contarme adentro en ese panorama. Un punto excelente.

He said, "I'd like a big mac, small fries and a strawberry milkshake please, and make it snappy!"

LOL, J/K guys...
