What about the motorcycles that pass on the double yellow and in curves? Where are those pictures? Why just show pictures of the cars and trucks that do it? Let me try to make several points for you. Specifically:
1) I'm from out of state, but I visit eastern Tennessee / western North Carolina regularily to drive and ride on some of your fine roads.
2) I patronize local businesses and contribute to your economy.
3) Like Killboy, I stay in my lane and encourage others to do the same.
4) I rarely pass on the double yellow; typically when I've been waved by by another driver / rider, or they are crawling along and the pass is both easy and safely done. On my last trip I never crossed the double yellow.
5) I wave faster riders and drivers by every visit to the area.

I am 21 and have been around the dragon my WHOLE life..i have driven it more than most and i will always drive it. Most rational people would realize that bikers bring a ton of money in to Tennessee's economy because they don't just come to Tennessee to ride the Dragon. They stay in local hotels, eat at local restaurants, buy gas at local gas stations...the list goes on. And even if they don't spend their money in the Dragon's local vicinity then they are spending it in other areas like Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg or Knoxville (Honda Hoot) or Memphis. And let's not narrow it down to the bikers. The popularity of the Dragon brings motorcycle AND automobile enthusiasts from all over the country, if not the world. And they bring their wallets.

BC18C, hey, If you truely visit this site weekly, you're not looking very carefuly at it. KB and crew regularly post pics of bikes doing this same thing and the backlash is equally firm against lane crossers no matter WHAT they drive.
Pay attention, NO ONE is excusing bikes for lane crossing. Anyone who drives like this needs an attitude adjustment in the worst way.
I would hope that everyone can see the value in the work that KB does in placing the bad drivers in a white hot spotlight. If it brings just one of them around to a new way of looking at things, it's worth all work to save one life.

So just a quick question since your a "local" and all and I'm sure you know bikers. How would you feel if you caused the death of one of your friends or family members?
Its not that outside of a chance, if you think about it. Locals are on that road every single day. I mean how you would you really feel on the side of the road knowing you just cost someone a brother, or sister mother or father.
I understand that you feel like a idiot being called out for driving like a 15 year old with a learners permit. But your going about it all wrong, growing up is about realizing your screwed up owning up to it. Maybe if you quit driving like you were dropped on your head you will live long enough to understand that.
That said we have all done something stupid, not everyone has felt the heat like this kid for it. KB show all line crossers. He is fair handed in his poining out the dangers of doing so. He has posted many bikes crossing the line, a lot of the time they get the caption "FAIL". The problem is not with the picture taker, but the one driving ANY vehical on the wrong side of a double yellow.
