The "Terrorists" had to get the hostage (Jennifer here with the orange flag) across the field without getting taken out by the "Saviors". If the Saviors hit the hostage, they lose.

can the terrorist just shoot the hostage and "win". I know it takes the sport out of it, but.....
I guess they could have, but we're all adults (for the most part) and keep things respectable. Besides, no one wanted to shoot the lady who volunteered to play the role of hostage for her first paintball experience. She was a sweetheart but I'm not sure how long that would last you hit her point-blank. =)
If I were one of the "saviors", I'd probably take out the hostage because...well, just because. Sorry Jennifer.
