Allright.... here's an odd coincidence. I saw this guardrail with the new reflector end on it on here last night, the first one I've ever seen, ... a departure from the guardrail end that runs into the ground. Well, I drove to town today to find that all the guardrails on my road here in soky have been replaced with the same ends as in this picture. What's up with this???
bimmer: Nope, I didn't do it. A Saturn group that was here a couple of months ago has those stickers made as a gag for us, and put them on the backs of their cars. I guess one of them found its way onto the guardrail.
ky: That contraption on the end appears to be there for the purposes of dissipating the energy of an impact without deflecting the vehicle away so much...like the old style curved ends probably did. That new thing is "boxed" onto the rail, with a curved piece hidden behind the trap sticker there to sort of shoot the rail out at 90 degrees as it slides down it. (Hope that makes sense...a picture of the back would probably help a lot. ;)
