Different kind of choppah.

Get up in the air stable yet? You are making me want to get another cp heli. I destroyed my lama the other night showing a neighborhood kid. It was a spectacular crash from about 50ft up after the slightest gust took it.

That's about as high as my CP gets too KB LOL.

I like the design of those 400's, but I've never tried to fly one.

Not really stable with it yet...haven't had much time to fly it really. I tinkered with it today, repairing from the last flight/crash a few days ago...went down a tooth on the pinion to slow the blades down some, installed 10mm shorter blades, and tinkered with the dual-rates and proportioning on the control servos to slow everything down some. (controller that comes with the 400 is awesome) It'll probably be a sloth next time I fly it, but maybe I can at least manage one whole battery without lawn darting it.

Oh yeah, and we're keeping all of the broken blades I've been through, making a tribute to my monstrous learning curve. I found some companies on Ebay selling blades for the TREX Heli that will fit with shimming...they sell them for about $20 for 10 plus shipping from HK. =)

Yeah, after the first week, I could take my CP completely apart and put it back together. Hey, have your run across http://bladecprepair.com/ yet? It's for CP, but there may be stuff for the 400 there.

Does that thing run balsa or plastic blades? The CP Pro runs plastic and fit the CP, but I don't think the CP has enough ass to spin them. I tried them and at full throttle I wasn't getting 3 feet off the ground. I went back to balsa.

I've been neglecting my flying toys this summer, I should break them out while it's not too windy.

Thanks for sharing the RC Copters, like you, a lot of us have several interests and hobbies.

Hey, did you get my email about my Evo?

No I hadn't seen that website, thanks! There is a similar one just for the 400, but not as many aspects as that one.

It uses wooden blades, or optional carbon fiber. I can also use blades for the Align "TRex" heli, which is much more popular, but they are a little thinner at the mount point, so I have to use washers to shim them up. I just ordered about 60 TRex blades off Ebay from Hong Kong for a pretty good deal...we'll see how they perform...

I did get your email about the Evo for sale...Lori wants it! Next vehicle for us has to be something practical though for backup and travel. I'm sure you won't have a problem finding a new home for it though. ;)

I used to fly 30 glow powered birds about 10+ years ago. Got to the point of looping and rolling a little but quit when I got into motorcycles. I have both a Kyosho Concept 30 and 60 that they don't even make parts for anymore. I used to fly in a club here in SW Michigan. One the members has a business designing and building bigger kits. He even offers Glow, Gas or Turbine power. One kit has a controllable camera platform. Lots of neat videos on his site. www.bergenrc.com. I have head that some of the tv news stations and state police forces use is products.

Those are some pretty impressive machines your friend builds there...that turbine-powered chopper sounds amazing!
