Weekly Update - May 7, 2008

All photos from last week are available in Our Store here. These are just the highlights.

Well the area was inundated with Minis last week, and I'm happy to report they lived up to the usual high standards of Gap etiquette. We don't have any ugly shots to talk about, and only one report of a close call between a couple of motorcyclists and a white Mini. There were a couple of casualties to cars, but none to drivers that I'm aware of.

The weather was beautiful except for Saturday, when a pretty big weather front skirted all around the area, not hitting the Gap as hard as it could have, but still making things windy and wet enough to be a mess.

This weekend is forecast to be wet Thurs/Fri, then clearing out for Sat/Sun, so we will see. Just a couple of small groups...V-Rods, Porsches, Florida Sportbikes, and T-Rexes. Hope you get to have fun where you will be.

On to the highlights!

Darryl,
That was real nice of you to choose Don "Big Daddy" and his MINI Mo for your top photo. They are back in Canada and sadly, the insurance company decided that Mo is totaled so we will never see that, oh so sharp, MINI on the Gap again.
It is indeed a testament to the MINI, that it can roll, end up on it's roof, with one one injured and then be able to be driven.
Photos of the accident can be seen here:

Hey Darryl,

Many thanks for posting my MINI's pic at the top of your Home Page. That is, indeed, the last pic of my MINI running the Hill as I totalled it later that night at Fontana Bridge. I will miss my beautiful car, but am already in the process of buying another MINI. Many thanks for all that you and Lori do.

Hey BD,

Yeah I saw that post about your accident the next day. Sorry about your ride, but glad you're ok.

When we were pulling highlights and ran across this shot, I knew right then that I wanted to use it for the header. May is a big car month anyway, and I liked the contrast, even though the car is a little dark in the shot.

Hope you recover well and end up with a good replacement. I'm sure we'll see ya again soon. ;)
