hmm. I'd like to see if it was put off-center for a real function for something under the hood or if they put it on after a day of drinkin' and fishin'.

It's over where the air intake is. If it were centered it would not be functional.

I would hope it was there for more than just a stock type of ram air source for a stock 4.0L engine. Maybe a crate motor hides in there? I don't see the reason for doing it if the hood concealed the stock setup.

If they do anything more than just rock crawling (ie anything in deep mud or water crossing, a real snorkel that mounts up the A pillar would be more effective. That type of intake might be ok for just rock crawling to allow a little more breathing.
