Jay FORCED me to ride his new Ducati 848...
What a piece of junk! Ok it was the best sportbike I've ever ridden, I just say that about every bike he's ever owned...he thinks.
It's got perfect power delivery for the Gap, with tons of grunt down low, (he's re-geared it) yet it still revs out nicely for a twin. It was hard to keep the front down coming out of turns. I finally realized that the inline 4s I've always loved have to be really wound out to deliver the power, and you spend so much time off the throttle on this tight road, they sometimes don't get that chance. Plus the slower reciprocating mass of the V-twin should create less centrifugal force fighting against you, for a quicker lean-in.
There's no steering dampener, but it's got a fairly long wheelbase, so it doesn't need it. Brakes were great, comfort was not bad for someone with 35" inseam, and the handling was incredible. No more dry clutch though, and I'd had to scratch that sucker up.
