Weekly Update - March 26, 2008

A bit chilly last week, but decent enough to get out and ride most of the time. It was really breezy at times, with a North wind usually. I guess I didn't notice how much I was shivering Saturday while out there shooting, but that night I was dead tired and slept forever. Then Monday it freakin' SNOWED! Next day: 60 degrees.

A couple of officers were out keeping an eye on things. A few tickets were written, but nothing unreasonable. In fact, we heard from a few riders who were treated quite reasonably. I'll not go into details publicly, because as much as I'd love to, frankly nothing good can come from that. Somewhere there is a lieutenant/captain/governor having a bad day, and as soon he sees any positive feedback about LEOs on "that damn Dragon", he's going to put a fire under their asses. A shame really considering things are much safer when area enthusiasts aren't treated as "the enemy". So you'll just have to read between the lines on here, and rest assured that if things are bad, we'll let ya know. Otherwise, our silence is a way of saying "Thanks!" to you LEOs treating us like fellow citizens...and you know who you are.

This weekend looks good. The ETR gang will be out there Saturday morning doing a roadside trash pick up, so be vigilant before noon please.

And don't forget Wheeler's your man for almost anything you need while in the area. It's a known fact that he does quite a lot for Lori and me, so take my endorsement how you want. However, I would hardly continue to give my business to someone who wasn't deserving of it, and I'd certainly never recommend them to anyone else.
