We stopped for lunch at a restaurant with a spectacular view...


And a good buffet too! This is another example were being the stragglers paid off. They seated most of the people at the buffet tables on the floor below. They had a view also, but everyone was elbow-to-elbow on long tables, and only the end folks had the unobstructed view. That filled up just before they got to the last of us, so we had to go up to the top floor, which had the better individual tables. We were the first ones on the floor, so I shot straight over to the best two-person table up there.

Being the stragglers while boarding small buses or vans as a large group pays off as well. Usually the last bus loaded is only partially filled, so the occupants have more room.
