That's one of the Music City Miata Club folks. The headset is hooked to the FRS radio (channel 5). Got to use it to give some sportbike riders a break one time in North GA. Was able to wave them around our group of about a dozen cars after the lead car radioed back the all clear from around the curves. See....we're not all line crossing a-holes. ;)

+1. FRS/GMRS radios are great for that. On our trip to the Gap this year, my g/f and I met a couple of guys from Canada coming down the Blue Ridge. We were headed the same place - Asheville - and we all had radios so we rode together. We were running late and really pushing it so the lead guy would pass a car(s), get a ways out in front and then radio the all clear to the rest of us. We made some hella good time on that run.

Another +1 for the FRS/GMRS radios. The MiMiata club from Michigan uses these when we get together for drives. They are great for using them to keep the group together by giving directions and other information. Some of the conversations we have while rolling down the road are also priceless.
