Weekly Update - September 12, 2007
Ok a lot of good causes going on now, so if you've got a bit of time or spare change, keep these folks in mind...because you know Christmas is right around the corner, so if you want anything from Santa besides a lump of coal...
New this week we've got the Blount County Rescue Squad 50th anniversary open house.
These are the people who come out and rescue our asses when the inevitable happens anywhere in the county...voluntarily. There is supposed to be a ride from the station through the Dragon, leaving at around 11am.
And there's still Ron Yeninas, Jimmy and Carrie...
Ron (pictured) is the gentleman who ran out into the road to help local rider Jimmy Dockery aka "Lake Trash" and his girlfriend Carrie up after they were hit by a drunk driver while riding through Knoxville on Jimmy's bike. Ron managed to get Carrie out of the road, and went back for Jimmy, at which point they both got hit by a second drunk driver. All 3 people are alive and recovering, although Jimmy is still pretty banged up and out of it. Ron has 2 broken legs, 2 broken shoulder blades, broken ribs, broken elbow, and a serious head injury, but he's in great spirits and getting around in his wheelchair.
The folks over at Easttnriders.com have setup a Paypal donation if you'd like to help them with their recovery. Just paypal whatever you can to admin@easttnriders.com with the subject of "Ronald".
We've also got a local Toy Run going this month, for anyone that will be in the area and wants to participate:
And finally there is the Rumble on the Dragon Biker Rally coming up on October 19&20 at Punkin Center
On to the highlights!
