Hot? Yes, but, but, but what about some protection?

Oh shut it. It's her skin let her do what she wants with it, even if it means ruining it.

...Always someone complaining about gear/protection. If you honestly think people need to ride around 100% of the time with full leathers on (on the dragon or any other road) you've got to be joking. Not everyone rides at a level requiring full gear. Yes, there are unknown risks that you can't control, but that's every day life isn't it. If you're going to talk about the risk of a lane crossing car or something else, then you need to start preaching to anyone crossing the street on foot or riding a bicycle without full leathers on. Or people can just realize that these people, along with anybody else riding slowly/responsibly, should not have to wear full leathers. It was 100+ degrees out last week, and I don't blame them. Above all, it's their choice/consequences not yours.

And don't start talking about how it affects your insurance rates because of their high medical bills etc... The high insurance rates are caused by statistics of idiots riding beyond their limits, not responsible riders without gear on.

Rant closed =)

Yeah, protection is important. Use good name brand condoms.

My parents dont ride NEAR as fast as I do...did, on the dragon. They crashed and thanks to my father wearing his chaps, gloves, jacket, and full-face helmet. He kept all his skin when they crashed and his left leg was trapped under their vtx 1800 as he was being drug along the road. so, just keeping at a nice slow steady pace does not in fact keep your skin safe... dumb

First of all...a VTX 1800 is definitely not the bike you want on top of you while grinding against the road, they must weigh half a ton. Ouch

But.....
You missed my whole point. Everybody knows the advantages of wearing gear. It's obvious. And I never once criticized wearing gear, if you read my comment. My point was:

You, or anybody else, cannot classify the people in this picture, or any other rider(s) not wearing full gear, as "Dumb", "Brainless", "Unsafe", or etc... Everybody makes personal decisions everyday, and in making those decisions we weigh the risks vs. the rewards and then come up with our own personal solution. Not everyone has the same risk factor, and not everyone has the same reward factor. Everybody that rides know darn well what can happen when skin hits the pavement. But quite frankly, some people just don't care, they're going to accept that risk and ride with little or no protection because they are comfortable enough with the risk.

Bottom line, nobody, except the rider him/herself, can know how their own personal risks weigh out against the rewards, therefore he/she is the only one who can say how "Dumb", "Brainless", "Unsafe", etc. their choice of riding gear is.

Again, this is totally not an attack against wearing gear. I am a sportbike rider and I wear full gear, but I am not so narrowminded as to think everybody else needs to...
