Ok, sorry for the "GEEK" moment.

That's actually an Adult Harvest Mite. They don't eat skin, they eat plants. Their Larva are Chiggers, the larva are the nasty little buggers that tear you up.

I was flying RC planes this summer and had to retrieve one and got into a nest of them, couldn't sleep for two nights. That gave me plenty of geek time to read up on them LOL. I had about 200 papules around my left ankle.

Actually that is pretty interesting about the larva. Ouch and ~200 on your ankle... nice!!
