I see an intercooler. Maybe this was one of those rebadged Dodges?

2.6l l-4 sohc intercooled turbo. made in japan by mitsubishi, sold as mitsubishi starions and chrysler/dodge conquests from 1983-1989
1987 was the first year for a factory intercooler I think (maybe 86). You can mod the crap out them too. Yup, they handle pretty sweet too cause the have nearly a square wheelbase =) Sweet ride there!
Dont see to many of the turbo ones any more. Top motor though. Nice pic
They were all turbocharged 83-89 =)
