And the majority had no clue how to navigate through the gap! Stop...go...stop...go! Oh and cars are not to be used as weapons against the faster motorcycles!

I think we all had a clue as to how to navigate. The reason it was stop go was do to slower moving trucks infront of us, one of which pulled a gun. Don't know about using our cars as weapons though. I always let the few motorcyclist who were faster go on by me.

Well, a few times it was clear sailing and there was a lot of stopping and going; also not the best in staying in the lanes. Yeah, you may be the exception, but overall there was a negative perception of the Focus group...

Well, I appologize if you got a negative perception of us. But from what I gathered on the Dragon, bikes seem to have a lot more trouble with the whole double yellow line. The only times we stoped were to avoid a gun wielding pickup truck owner.

From my experiences with that Focus group, we did better than some of the stuff I've seen. Two of the three runs I made with a group were botched by slower traffic holding us up, neither of which were willing to use a pull off ... one of which brandished a gun after being asked to please use a pull off and let all of us, including the bikes behind us, go by. There is video of us all letting a faster bike rider by all of us, he apparently didn't have much of a problem as he gave a nice wave as he passed by.

We also have war stories of a certain motorcycle rider grabbing a fistful of brakes in front of a small group of our cars, trying to get himself killed and then trying to pick a fight once we reached the Gap. Did we all drive perfectly? No, and neither do the majority of people that take on the Dragon, especially for their first times like it was for the majority of us.

Next time, maybe we should take the entire group into consideration ... as well as the possible unknown ... before making a random generalization for a group of at least 12 cars and 20 people.

Robert,

While I have no opinion of your or your group's driving, your rationalization of "especially for their first times..." doesn't give you an excuse to drive like an asshat. First time or 1000th time through, you still have to stay in your lane. Period.

Once again, I'm not saying you did or didn't, but let's not pretend that virgin trips through the Gap give you leeway to drive as you wish. The person you hit is still just as dead.

A Mean Focus is an OXYMORON!
Why don't you start with a real car?
