Not to toot my own horn BUT, this is one of the reasons I preach about cycles or cars following too close in a non-track environment. It doesn't take but a second, then trouble. Someone else's error, animal, 1/4 inch rubber timing belt breaking, never can tell...

well toot away big guy, i know you were just waiting for this opportunity. then when your done tooting, like was said a few weeks ago, let it go please. you are still trying to dog one of the most well known/respected/ responsible rider/drivers in the community. point taken ---- again.

silveRRocket said...

Not trying to dog anybody. Don't know who you're pointing out that I was supposedly "dogging" anyway. So as far as your "well known" statement, whoever this person is, isn't that well known, to me anyway, but hey, I'm an outsider and popularity is nothing./ "Respected" Maybe, I wouldn't know, or care/ "responsible driver" if I have made an honest comment on this person, trust me, he's nowhere near responsible. However and whoever this person that you speak of is, maybe, just maybe, all of y'all can have a fundraiser to help he/she afford a trackday. that way, someones innocent grandmother, or family member, isn't put at risk from stupidity...

Well now that the proverbial foot has been firmly inserted, who is going to break the bad news to SR?
PS I sell great rocks to hide under

Kind of amusing really.

Wow, a deer, dog, cat or mechanical problem and you would have had something attached to your bumper there Darryl. Tailgaters are as dangerous as DUIs...

does this ring a bell? i could post all the replys that told you the same thing i did too, i have spare time.

As I said, Darryl gets a deer, Dog (just like stated that ran in front of this car) cat yadda, yadda, yah. If Darryl had to make an evasive move like this car and your friend makes it through alive on 2 wheels??? Just trying to help with experience over youth. Fun, heck yes, have fun, my advice to all is just count the cost at what that "fun" may cost an innocent person, with one's bad choices...Plus, I've made a A LOT more posts commending Gear choices and good riding form than I have posted on bad choices, so post away. I check back in every few days or so. BTW, in your first comment, you stated this, "you are still trying to dog one of the most well known/respected/ responsible rider/drivers in the community." your comment starts by saying I'm STILL trying to dog. Still being the key word here. If, and I did say if, Darryl's car would not have been 12 inches away from your friends front wheel, I can pretty much say that I would have bragged on his good form. Plus furthermore, I don't recall STILL trying to dog your friend, that is unless his bad choices make the front page often...HAGO.

Hey Silverrocket. Maybe if that person hadn't missed you last year or whenever it was we wouldn’t have to read the same old crap from you over and over. "What if" Who cares?

Do you even ride the Gap or are you just sniping whenever the opportunity presents itself?

1deadsubie said...

trust me, if it was a dog I would have killed the crap out of it before I jacked up my car like that the mistake was inexperience, and it was a very costly and stupid mistake not one I am likely to make again. The bright side could be that I will potentially be out of debt with some cash to spare

"Hey Silverrocket. Maybe if that person hadn't missed you last year"

That remark is showing your age.... BTW, it didn't miss. That tailgater/non-driving idiot, took themself out, their own 13 year old kid, the car beside me that was struck head-on had what use to be a prominent member of society behind the wheel, in the form of a nurse, she was also someones daughter/granddaughter/sister (you get the point)and for your wishes I must appologize, sad for you, I didn't die...Plus just so you know, it was this April and not last year...

My view-
1) speeding is OK, everybody does at one time or another, plus I like to have fun and that's hard to do at 35 mph.
2) Kneedragging is fun to see pictures of on here, even though most of that is done above 35mph.
3) There's trackdays for the close quarters racing that doesn't put innocent folks at risk in the name of "fun"
4) last but not least- before this thread, I made a lot more post commending folks on their form, gear choice, sharpness of their vehicle and such. You made a statement of reading my same old crap over and over, considering this remark from you, it must mean that you need to work on your God given "ignore" ability and ignore my post, also it must mean that you either 1 of 3 things, need to work on your form, work on your protective gear choice or your careless driving tactics, because I've had to offend you somehow. So which is it?

JamesD said...

Since we are now making points.

1. I am 41 years old
2. I wear proper gear
3. Who cares what your opinions are about everyone’s gear/riding ability/judgment.

I made the previous statement to make a point. I don't in reality wish harm to anyone.

Again, do you even ride the Gap?

Believe it or not you are not the all knowing authority on form, gear, or judgment.

I do ride the gap often and it is know-it-alls like you who spend their time in the ditch or in the opposite lane because they can't ride as well as they talk.

JamesD said...

"Mr. Silverrocket. Please post up on when you are coming to the gap. I am always looking for ways to improve. So if you can give me a couple of pointers on "form" it would be great."

I'd pay to see that.

silveRRocket said...

All or most of my replies are after the arrows.

1. I am 41 years old <--Could've fooled me....
2. I wear proper gear <---awesome, it'll save your butt (or skin) one of these days.
3. Who cares what your opinions are about everyone’s gear/riding ability/judgment. <--- I'll bet a few felt good getting a pat on the back

I made the previous statement to make a point. I don't in reality wish harm to anyone.<--- Hmmm here's your comment copied and pasted "Hey Silverrocket. Maybe if that person hadn't missed you last year" Hmm, you don't "in reality wish harm to anyone" I guess by this statement, I'll just take it you have a computer screen to hide behind and you're "different" from reality while behind it... I'm the same face to face, as I am while typing behind the screen...

Again, do you even ride the Gap?

Not yet, but I'll have a HUGE smile on my face when I get to. However I do ride in the foothills of the Appalachians on a daily basis, 318 curves? Nope, but there's plenty to keep me happy.

Believe it or not you are not the all knowing authority on form, gear, or judgment.

Never, ever once claimed to be. My point being, before I gave advice and got "attacked" by some (not all) of the "all perfect regulars" I made more compliments than comments...As far as "All knowing authority" as you say, Never claimed to be, Hell, I never even got to do a trackday on my RR before that non-driving idiot took care of it for me. Am I "All knowing?" Nope, not even close, but Since joining the sportbike/streetbike community on a permanent basis at age 29 (now 34) I have tried to be the best student I could be, learning as much as possible in the past 5 years by reading several books such as "twist of the wrist" series from front to back, attending and watching local friends do track days at little 'dega, and watching and learning from pro's at Barber. Am I "all knowing?" Nowhere close to where I'm capable of being, if I was, I would be getting paid to ride and not explaining myself to the likes of you...

I do ride the gap often and it is know-it-alls like you who spend their time in the ditch or in the opposite lane because they can't ride as well as they talk.

As I've stated, I never once claimed to "know-it-all" This I do know, I know it's not "smart" to tailgate, cross the lane (exceed your ability) and endanger others or ride without gear. Am I a know-it-all? No. Am I smart in these aspects? Yes. Do I know-it-all? Unfortunately, no, probably never will, but I'm still open to learning though, and you?

Oh and as far as your next post, I can always use some extra $$$, but I'm not an instructor (Sorry, firstgearphil, buy "twist of the wrist I and II" and read them, even though I take it that you might be being sarcastic, if not, I appologize) I just give compliments or advice, so I'll take tips in my tip jar I'll make for just for you, when I do come up that way.. Later, Brian.

Hey FirstGearPhil,

I'd be more than happy to work with you on your "form" some time. It's always a pleasure to work with young people that have a hunger for learning. Just keep in mind I can't be held responsible if you get yourself hurt trying to keep up. Hope to see you on the 318 curves of the Dragon's Tail soon!

5 whole years and a bunch of reading. Well, you have convinced me. As long as you compliment a few people then feel free to go on and on about things you know nothing about.

Because in your 5 years of experience and NO time on this road you have earned the right.

Please excuse me for doubting you.

silveRRocket said...

A lot more than 5 years experience, although I purposly put the bait out there to watch you act childish. Think what you will, I could care less. Due to your childish behavior, there's no way in hell your 41. To keep this off of Darryls site, I clicked on your profile, you admit your gear choice in a prior post, lmao, you will find out, those blue jeans will hold up very well when you bust your tail from that oil leaking brand your riding, in your profile picture...

JamesD said...

I actually don't wear the jeans any more smart guy. I have a pair of JR Ballistic 5 pants and wear them always.

Please please come to the Gap so we can wonder at your masterful skill and gear.

If I happen to be there feel free to come look me up. You now know what I ride. not too many of them out there.

JamesD said...

O and if you are insinuating that I ride a HD by the oil leaking comment you now have topped the dumbass chart.

As anyone who knows anything about motorcycles will tell you it’s a Roadstar Warrior. About 30more hp and 40fp of torque than most HDs and it does not leak oil.

And I bet I can dog you and your “silver rocket” all 11 miles on it.

But you are an expert!

CB11 said...

Hey JamesD, this sh!t is cracking me up to the point that I signed up for this just to let you know that a fellow Warrior riders got your back, cause "That's how we roll!", you know?

Hey silverrocket, come up to the gap around April 25th or so and they'll be plenty of us on our oil leaking bikes railin' across the mtn. If you haven't been there, you can't judge it. Its not anything like your local twisties. These guys your coming down on are, for the most part, riding within their limits and looking out for everyone else WHILE having fun. Isn't that what its all about?

Thats my $.02 worth.

WOW!
We went from a guy rollin his WRX,
to Phil getting lessons on good riding form, to Warrior riders banding together!
What a thread.

OBTW, Tyler, before you hook up with Phil to give him lessons, try to schedule some time with me so I can give you some pointers and have you all primed and ready.
You caught on real fast when I taught you how to drag a knee in the rain, so the rest should be easy.

BWWAHHH HHAA HAA !!

O and if you are insinuating that I ride a HD by the oil leaking comment you now have topped the dumbass chart.<---- Sorry, hard to tell by that small picture, plus it being a yamaha, such a popular brand.....As far as the dumbass, I've been called worse, then again, I don't ride a yammy....

As anyone who knows anything about motorcycles will tell you it’s a Roadstar Warrior. About 30more hp and 40fp of torque than most HDs and it does not leak oil.<--- I'm impressed......Then again it's easy to impress me while I putt around with 109 ci's between my legs. Yes, I did say I putt around.

And I bet I can dog you and your “silver rocket” all 11 miles on it.<--- I don't ride a Rocket anymore (special thanks, to that non-driver, that you wished "took me out".)Plus the RR was a little down on power due to it only having 107 rwhp when purchased. It seems, from your hometown advantage, then you should be able to beat me, seeing how I've yet to ever ride there.

But you are an expert!<--- never once claimed to be, I'll try real hard to get to your level one day though.
