Unfortunately some of them also took home "Worst driving of the week" award. Congrats!

Okay, I'll start the message stream...

You idiots! Assuming that you are still alive to see this week's low lights, it is my prayer that you are so embarrassed by your public display of bad judgement that you will stay home until you have had your car repainted AND you have learned that sharing the road / staying on your side is the only way to enjoy the Dragon!

Don't loop all Elise/Exige owners into this same group, I was at the dragon earlier this year (last weekend of February / first weekend of March) with my new Elise and two friends with their Elise' and we paid extra attention to respecting the yellow lines. Hell, our cars were even part of Killboy's new look (the green/yellow/orange cars in the banner) when it debuted. You can see some photos from that trip HERE.

I almost attended this event but ended up going to the beach instead (needed a real vacation), now I'm kinda glad that I didn't go.

Some people just can't be reached.

It's a shame it always turns into some "Us vs. Them" argument, no matter who it is. They can't see that we're all out there for the same reason, and a little internet criticism is getting off EASY for the severity of this type of action. It's practically attempted murder...oh golly, you got called out on a website for it! How will the ego ever survive that?!

We have so many shots of those guys in the wrong lane it was difficult to narrow it down to just a couple.

Selfishness is no big deal though, everyone can just drive all over the road, running each other over and off, causing accidents. Then the cops will proceed to respond in the predictable manner, and we'll lose all enjoyment of this wonderful playground.

Thanks for showing just a HINT of concern for your fellow enthusiasts guys.

All,

I've just checked out the Lotus site and WOW they are, for the most part, extremely defensive about the photos Darryl posted.

I posted the following reply on the Lotus site. It will be interesting to see if they come around.

Gentlemen,

Reference the strong comments about Killboy... I want you to understand that the readers and posters on Killboy are absolutely equal opportunity offenders. It does not matter what you ride or drive. If you screw up you will be at least skewered, and drawn and quartered if your offense is serious. Having reviewed your photos... and read your explanations, I think you have gotten off rather lightly. It is not uncommon for sinners to receive as many as fifty lashings.

The tail of the Dragon / Deal's Gap is absolutely one of the finest roads for enthusiasts in all of America. Further, Killboy, his crew and their legion of supporters are a huge asset to all of us who love this road. Killboy takes our photos for us. They clear and clean the road for us. They update us on the weather. They keep us apprised of who is going to be there and what is happening. They work tirelessly to maintain our relationship with the authorities. Killboy is, in short, our and your best friend.

Reference the yellow line, the local rules are based upon the belief that you came to enjoy the curves; why shortcut them? Gentlemen, please stay in you own lane! Both ways. All of the time. Prove to yourself and the audience that you are a great driver / rider in control of your powerful vehicle.

Thanks! FYI, I drive a BMW M3, an AC Cobra (continuation car) and I ride a superbike. I have also owned and enjoyed a Lous Super7.

Jeff

Agreed JWA, most people people in general seem to get it. All we can do is hope to reach the problematic ones before anything tragic happens out there.

JWA, others from elisetalk, my ire is focused solely at said deputy sheriff. I think it's very convenient for the Hancock County Sheriff's department to have such an accessible website. Darryl has posted over at the s2ki board enough to know that we don't tolerate that behaviour in our community, either.

Looking forward to the spring (it's snowing here in Detroit already)

When will people grow up and just admit I was wrong. As Ron White said you can't fix stupid. Nor can you defend it either. If you need the whole road to drive on then you need driving 101.

I think (not certain) but, I think, if you can get a close-up shot of the tag# and the offense, take it to the authorities, the owner of the vehicle gets mailed a fine. Then again, with idiots like this being numerous, Darryl would probably have to hire a full time employee just to run the Photos to the police station.

I love you guys.. It's entertaining to watch someone get nailed to the wall!

...none of your actions would be taking place if he took ownership of his own mistake. Instead, he defended himself by insulting everyone else on the road and expressing the fact that he's an enemy when he's behind the wheel of a car rather than a fellow enthusiast. I wonder if he will feel any remorse or regret if and when he takes someone elses life by crossing the double yellow.

I love the Dragon, but I think it's only as good of a place to ride and drive as the enthusiasts allow it to be. The road is only as good as the people, and if there are people like this guy on the road (especially with that attitude he expressed), then maybe I will start sticking to the track instead of places like the dragon!
