Weekly Update - July 12, 2006
Last week was pretty busy with a lot of people off work and on vacation. Things got pretty quiet by the weekend.
NCDOT started paving the rough section of 129 from the NC/TN state south to Fugitive/Cheoah Dam. I assume they will work on Hwy 28 when they are finished, as there are covered construction signs up on 28. TDOT is also repairing the pull-off areas this week to make it more inviting for slower traffic to pull over and allow faster traffic by. Yay!
This weekend will see the Mitsubishi groups doing their annual thing, with Evolutions and 3000GT/Stealths among other diamond star models running around. Everyone please play nice with your fellow enthusiasts!
There will be a Moto GP jam at the resort NEXT weekend sponsored by Redbull. This will be similar to the GP jam we attended last year at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, SC., complete with several big screen TVs broadcasting the race live from Laguna Seca. Food and drink is supplied and it's all free, so come on out and enjoy the twisty roads and watch the race with your friends. Please do what you can to support ALL of the area businesses who do everything they can to make sure you have a good time out here.
