A couple of things...
From email:
The RAGS Miata club from Knoxville will be up at the Gap picking up trash on the last 2 miles going into NC (TN side) on Sunday the 23rd.
Also the Superbikes episode about Deals Gap and the R1/R6 rally did air Tuesday night. The footage of other folks out there riding was really cool...and it was nice to see some support for the McCoy gang and Wheeler...both good folks. Other than that it was just more footage of stoppies and wheelies on public roads. A shame really, because host Jason Britton's camera presence is totally acceptable to me, but it's like everytime he gets on a bike he has to bust out some stunt for attention. Jason you're a great guy, and a great rider:
Calm.
Down.
A lot of us can do stoppies and wheelies too, maybe not as good as you, but you gotta hold a little back man...make people want it ya know?
Of course they didn't show any footage from the interview with us, and it doesn't surprise me after I bashed the first episode a few weeks ago. I basically said what everyone else was thinking, and that often ruffles some feathers to a select few it is aimed at. We get the same reaction for calling people out for driving/riding dangerously...they get all defensive at US. But in the end, the message sinks in deeper than it would have otherwise, love it or hate it.
I regret nothing!!! =P

I saw that last night and it was nice to see the Dragon the day before head toward US-129.
But I too was disappointed that they showed a lot of irresponsible riding. Cool to see the dragon on TV, but I only hope that riders watching this don't get the idea that this sort of behavior is what the dragon is all about.
See ya tomorrow!
Well, their loss!! It probably didn't help that Killboy's MOMMA blasted them too. I told them that I didn't care if my son and his friends were never on their stupid show because they would never act the way those jerks did, guess they listened to me by gosh! ;) All you GAP folks just keep on ridin' and have fun but keep it safe for everyone including my son and daughter -in-law (love yous guys!) aka Killboy's MOMMA! ^^ ^^
I respectfully disagree with ice750 and pucksdown. The stunting scene may be "big" in California, but it isn't big in the Southeast and it doesn't belong on genuinely serious roads like the Dragon... or many of the other roads I ride every weekend. The TV show is giving us a bad name! I have been cornered by two non bike friends who were amazed to know I ride like that... but I don't. I promise!
