Reminder...

Don't forget this Tuesday night on Speed TV they will be airing the first episode of "Superbikes" at 9pm EST. This episode was shot mostly at Deals Gap and surrounding areas, so you should see a lot of familiar...stuff. I'm not sure about the future of the show...from the previews it is looking like Squid-o-Vision with lots of stunting and minimal riding gear. =(

Let's hope that's not the case Darryl. Everyone knows how negative of an image that can give motorcycling.

Darryl,

I've seen the show's preview several times, and I think serious riders are going to be very disappointed. I'm going to watch it, but my expectations are low. Very low.

Gonna set the VCR tonight. (I don't watch enough television programming to bother with a TiVo.) If it ends up being a squid-fest show, but with some good Gap footage, maybe we can campaign for them to keep the show but change the theme a little, to reflect a more positive light on motorcycling. I'm really getting annoyed with people making money by hyping the negative poser/stunta/squid image of sportbiking - its not good for any of us.

Agreed.. I was really looking forward to the show till I saw the comercials for it.. Its dissrespectful IMHO like the world doesnt think bad enough of sport bike riders.. now theyre gonna have proof that all we do is go 180mph down the highway with one wheel in the air (not really proof.. I just mean thats the way the show is gonna portray us :( )

Reference Screaminf4's question, my answer is:

"No! they are very different. Putting a knee down is the best way to go around a corner while a stoppie or wheelie serves on practical purpose."

No squid Jeff

I e-mailed Greg White (as hes always been a big advocate of Safty on a motorcycle, as well as a positive image of riders) and Dave Despain.. I cant belive what garbage that was... and did they even show the password for the dude for a day contest? I never saw it.. I was really hoping for that gap footage too.. I was looking forward to taking a ride in Daryls car :)
