Tired of the bickering...

No more shots of dangerous driving, too many people complaining. Now on, it's all sunshine and rainbows.

How else will I ever get on the main page?

Darryl,

When dealing with people, let us remember we are not dealing with creatures of logic. We are dealing with creatures of emotion, creatures bustling with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity. (Dale Carnegie)

You always do, say and write from your heart. People are going have different perceptions of what anyone else does or says.

You aim to hurt no one and help all you can - Be you and don't let anyone steer you away!

I, among many, appreciate what you do!

OK, this is the same kind of thing that is going wrong all over the country. We give in to the minority when it is not in our best interest.

I think there should be a webpage dedicated to lane crossers. You could fill an entire page with all the idiots you shoot every day.

These few that are going to screw it up for the many should not be catered to.

I echo everything these supporters are saying. I really enjoy the site and am baffled by those who complain when they are observed driving or riding dangerously. Many times I have seen people come on afterwards and admit that what they had done was foolish. I have also seen people come on and say that seeing the pictures really helps them keep safety in mind. Don't worry about the naysayers. They will always be vocal. No one ever calls the help desk to say that "everything is fine". You have a lot of people who appreciate what you do, many more than the ones who don't.

I haven't even made it to The Dragon yet, but I plan to make it up there one weekend in my car or on a bike when I get one. This site will be foremost in my mind and will keep me from acting like an idiot, no matter how badly my instincts want to kick in. :)

Darryl,
Don't change what got you where you are. I like the quick wit, and the great pictures. When I describe this site to others, the first, and last comment is that Darryl promotes safe riding. You can't do that without calling a few people out. I am amazed at how many people who comment here ride so well and never make a mistake. Not me. I screw up daily. I ride very careful at the gap,and if I screw up call me on it.If not on the main page, with a PM.
The people I know like and respect you for this. For those who don't, Don't log on.

Thanks guys, you all are awesome. I probably was a little harsh on the lane crosser I spoke to in person, then posted up on here as well last update. I'm going to try and be less harsh and more persuasive in the future. I guess this was just the reality check I needed right about now.

Let's try to keep it friendly and kill 'em with kindness I guess. ;)

May I make a suggestion....keep posting the lane crossers, you may save someone's life someday...BUT...stop the "Miss Model" crap, it looks vulgar. Sorry, that is what I think. Yo moma ^^ ^^ ^^

skinwalker: And like I've said 4 times now, I DID post a friend on the front page, Daryl on the dirtbike. I had to hear his shit all weekend.

Call me biased all you want, but the very week you try to call me out, I post a shameful shot of a "friend" right there on the front page.

Hey, I agree.... do the crime, it's on film... you're BUSTED. Suck it up. Complaining only displays in stark relief the order of magnatude of your misguidedness.

I, for one, love the shots... MR cool, cutting corners, feeling all hard n' rossi, gets to see how much of a tool he appears everyone else on the road. Keep it in your lane.

You could always set up a "random Tolls", page and post the unwashed masses there. I think a hit counter would show it to be very popular.

It's a matter of a little policing within the ranks... tough to get called out by your buds, but it's at root in your best interest. Much like the " Friends don't let friends take home bar sluts " rule. Stings at the time.. but everyone feels better in the morning.

The site rocks... giving in to the extremists/whiners/small minds and censoring your content only diminishes your excellent portrayal of the Gap experience.

Wedding shots, boobies, the occasional model butt, the dog, cars, bikes, trikes, cops, mud, leaves, dirt... all parts of "a day in the life". Pulling anything is a wrong move, by catering to a few, you'll lose the masses.

Tell them they suck, it's your blog, bite it.

Our riding group holds to the idea that the centerline is a cliff.. not to be crossed in any circumstances. To do otherwise is an admission you were inattentive, pushing too hard on a ROAD ride, or simply unskilled.

Congrats on gettin' hitched BTW.

Darryl,

Don't let the bastards get you down! Keep on keeping on. The vast majority of your loyal readers ... and buyers support your efforts to make the gap one of the best roads in the world.
