I think if he had actually just locked on to the bike, he could have rode it out unharmed.

Man, I feel bad for the guy. Lots of exposed skin up top. Ouch!
Did he have a bad case of road rash?

Nah he rode off...it was a pretty gentle low-side. He had some rash on his side, just below his armpit.
That bike was perfect before he crashed including his tires. Tires had nothing to do with the crash. Pushing ability and equipment beyond there ability got him. I am not criticizing him as I too have been down out there. I was just lucky enough to do it out of Darryl's sight
