Weekend Update - July 22-24, 2005

As many of you may have already heard on Tail of the Dragon or EastTNriders.com, last weekend was pretty sad. We had 2 fatalities, the first in nearly a year. I'm not going into a lot of detail because all I know is what I've been told, but there is plenty of information on those sites.

A donation drive has been started by the EastTNriders in the name of Jack Wolfe, one of the fallen riders. A great local guy, Vance Jones, is collecting everything and donating it to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundations as per Mrs. Wolfe's request. If you'd like to donate, send funds to:

Please make checks or money orders payable to Vance Jones so that he can cash it and take them one lump sum for the final amount. Vance is going to keep track of everything and make one final post with the final amount received and who gave what in this thread.

There were a couple of other pretty serious accidents, including one guy that lost a leg on the Cherohala Skyway. I was told that a group of sports cars came around a curve in his lane and caused him to crash, and didn't even stop to help.
