Weekend Update - July 2-3, 2005
Last weekend was kind of a dud for us. We didn't shoot any Friday, and only a handful Saturday and Sunday. They are uploading into the store now.
This weekend is of course the big MotoGP race at Laguna Seca Sunday. For those who don't keep up with it, this is the first time the premier motorcycle racing class in the world has raced in the US in many years. There are a few American racers, Nicky Haden and Colin Edwards being the favorites, who have been on the track before, but the majority of racers have never been to Laguna Seca, so it should be interesting.
A new American racing motorcycle will also debut there, the C1 by MotoCzysz. It is a very innovative motorcycle with several features never before implemented on a motorcycle.
The race airs at 5pm Sunday. It's only an hour long, and I really wish Speed TV would spend a bit more time introducing the event...make it a 2-hour special or something.
I will be at a MotoGP party/trackday at CMP/Kershaw Sunday hosted by BMW/Ducati of Charlotte among other sponsors. Speed TV is scheduled to be there so it may hit the airwaves in a future episode of 2 Wheel Tuesday. The trackday is sold out already, but I'm sure that anyone is welcome to come join us Sunday to watch the races live on several big-screen TVs they will have on-hand.
