Weekend Update - June 3-5, 2005

Photos from last weekend are uploading into Tha Store right now. Not a terribly busy weekend. The ones following holiday weekends are usually like that. There was a pretty big police gathering down by the lakes while they held a press conference, but after that they pretty much split and headed home. Didn't see any activity in the Gap. The SVs held their annual rally, and so did the Subarus, along with a few Audi TTs on Friday morning. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and playing nicely with each other.

This weekend is the Cherohala Challenge Bicycle ride. These guys and gals pedal 115 miles from Tellico Plains, across Deal's Gap, then over and across the Cherohala Skyway. (over a mile high) This is a once a year thing, and they are usually through the Gap by noon, but may linger late into the day on the Cherohala Skyway, so please be coureous and give these guys some space or even encouragement. Nancy from TailoftheDragon.com will be participating in this year's ride. Good luck to all!

On a side note, some of you may have noticed that I have disabled anonymous posting. The comments were just getting too childish by some of the anonymous posters, so now you must register with blogger.com before you can leave comments. I really wanted to leave it open for anyone to comment without needing to register, but some folks just don't know how to control themselves when they are given a little freedom.
