At least he is wearing the gear.
And rockin' race plastics.
I am wondering where the bike stopped. Sure could have been a bad day for another rider.
You guys are always giving people hell for crossing the center line (rightfully so) but when one of your rock star dragon slayers wipe out and send their bike skidding because they were in over their head, all most do id just critique his style
Saw two cruisers getting written up Friday on the Tennessee side near the border.
Just thought I'd throw that in.
It looks like even though he went down he stayed in his lane.
We never have so little control over our machines than when our hands are separated from them. If it stayed in his lane, it was just good luck, not something he did.
Yeah, I know. I was just pointing out that in this incident it was lucky that no one else was in danger.
There is a huge difference when one has good form and technique and looses grip. Versus someone who just drives right off the roadway because they cant figure out how to negotiate a curve at 30 mph. It takes way more skill to ride a sport bike at higher speed while cranked over at maximum lean. I ain't saying he could not have killed anyone or killed himself. Just stating the obvious.
I like this picture. Not because there's a rider down (prayers with you, brother) but because we've all been there- He might be looking for a soft landing spot, but I'm almost certain his eyes are on his bike. More than the pain of his body bouncing off the black top, his heart is ripping to the sound of grinding metal and plastic. Crashing is a terrible thing, but I think it reminds us of the bond and love we truly share with our machines.
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me and when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
NOW he has his elbow down !!!
@ Chris Guiney > thumbs up...what do you know about dune? heheh
Mike....there is no difference, both put other people at risk. The dragon is a public road, not a private road.
There's a huge difference depending on whether you screw up in a left turn or a right turn.
If you're going to go down you might as well do it with style. Glad to hear that he got up and enjoyed the rest of the day.
