That was MY MINI he was trying to catch! I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
"Crime scene?" Really? I hope that's because it had drugs in it or something and not because cornering is a felony in TN.
Couldn't have gotten any better all things considered...
Volvo = Safest car on the road.
Note the nice shaded area he ended up... could've been IN the side of a mountain, or worse - DOWN the side of a mountain!
I think they wrapped the tape around it to let people know it was ok NOT to call the police and report a wrecked car in the trees...it had to stay there a few days (may still be there for all I know) and I heard people kept calling it in.
@ Squirlz, Did he let you by and then try to keep up ? Do tell more if you don't mind.
If cornering is a felony, that guy would be innocent of it anyway. He didn't make it through the corner.
@Eric: Paul (Squirlz) may chime in also, but just in case he doesn't, he told me they came flying up behind him just before the first real turn after coming down from the Skyway toward Robbinsville, and just sailed right off the road behind him. It was full of young folks and the driver had just gotten a speeding ticket in Knoxville...allegedly.
Yeah the tape was a good idea, we drove by an hour or so after it happened, the tail lights were still on and had to find a safe place to pull over, and run back to help an empty car.
