I hear you can stuff a Corvette LS1 with accompanying 6-speed manual transmission in these things. (Actually, no, I saw one posted on Jalopnik.com with a Corvette LS1 and a 6-speed manual).
The 944 turbo (which this is)was no slouch as it was.
My friend's dad had one of the first few in the country at the time.
The early ones were euro cars made to meet US standards. The later ones were made for the US from the start and were a little heavier I'm told.
My buddy eventually wrecked the first one and they said the later one never felt as good.
We used to piss off some V8s in that car.
I did have to drive it to the shop with no clutch so that it could be repaired before his dad found out.
Dummy tried to spin the wheels by popping the clutch. They don't want to spin.
Good times.
I've got a 5.7L LT1 in mine. I need to head back to the dragon at some point. Definitely a head turner and butt-dyno pleaser :) That's a very nice looking 951.
