Mad skills from both ends of the camera. Someday I'll get down to your neck of the woods to ride the Dragon. But at half that speed..! Not too sure that would be considered a slaying. -Sul

Awesome :-) Are you filming from the S2000 or Mini?

Eric said...

That's it ! Next summer I'm driving the Blue Ridge Parkway and going back to the area again. I'll be staying more than an afternoon this time. Besides the Dragon, there are many roads in the area I wanna drive on. :-) Thanks for the vid, it sealed the deal. :-D

Camera car is S2000 in this one...was just a quicky to see how the new worked. Plan to do some with the Mini as well, which is shooting flames from the exhaust now. =)

The "Fastest Foreigner" Rules !!!!

Wow that is really amazing. The S2000? Really amazing. I kept thinking that it coudn't be a car taking those cruves at that speed and keeping up with a bike. Like the one guy said. I would have lost site of this guy in just a few turns. And you kept up in a car... Mad mad skills. Best Video I have ever seen of the dragon.

Great riding/driving/video work, but how do we post this sort of thing on the internet, clearly displaying moving violations on a public highway, for all the world to see, and then question the often heavy law enforcement presence in the area....

I'm just sayin...

Brett M Judd said...

Thank you TooKool,

I love Killboy.com and what they do for us junkys, but I was amazed at the speeds and the yellow lines. While at no time does the bike cross, there is a scene where everything but the contact patch is over the line.

Jealous, sure, I would love to be able to ride like that and have an opportunity to do so. But the double standard and mixed message is blatant.

Darryl Cannon aka "killboy" said...

I know and I see what you're saying...it's why I'm hesitant to post a lot of stuff on here. I've had shots of people doing really cool stuff out there, talented, skilled riding and driving, but I won't post it because of the finger pointing. We've shot some other great vids of perfectly harmless fun but they're not going on up either.

I like to think that with videos like this, it shows potential visitors that you can have your fun out there without ruining someone else's day or causing accidents...educational? =)

Unknown said...

I just like the video...I like it a lot!! Double standard is blatant, so stop watching it, problem solved. The rider in the video is skilled and rides better than 90% of the other people that ride this road at half the speed this rider is carrying. Like Daryl said the video is educational in showing that them darn sport bikes are not always the problem when the rider knows their ride, the road, and their limits. Yeah they are riding fast, but not over their head. Some of the people that ride this road under the speed limit make you wonder how they even survived making it there! So there are always two sides to everything. I just like the video, sound, perspective, riding and driving skills! Keep up the good work!

Awesome video, sorry to see the negativity and that the weekly updates will have to wait until spring. Time to suffer thru the winter with no two wheeling...

I love to see what happens here when a nerve is touched. ATGATT v. naked riding, line crossing race day on the gap v. cruisers doing what cruisers to.

This is an amazing video and I loved watching it with my daughter that loves to ride with me. She is 14. It was great to hear her talk about looking through the turn, lean and body position, etc and she does not yet have a licence.

My fear is that the unskilled will try this and more will be hurt/die, therefore ending what is an oasis for all riders who can get there and a dream for those of us who can not.

What was the line, "with great power comes great responsibility." This forum can be a double edge sword if not extremely cautious.

Thanks Killboy,
Very nice video. Competent riding all the way through.
Really, really liked it.

unnecessary knee dragging anyone?

throw your upper body off instead
but I guess it looks good on camera

but good quality vid.

unnecessary knee dragging?

Why don't you pass him and show him how it should be done?

Cruzman said...

Ok, So I admit it I am a commuter. Never been on a track and don't really plan on going there either. However I do appreciate the skill it takes to ride like this. I get the impression that some of the comments think the rider should have been going faster before knee dragging was utilized. I say Perfect Practice makes Practice Perfect. As for the idea that this video will encourage less skilled riders to ride beyond their limits... Being a member of the less skilled rider group, let me state that I will probably ride beyond my limits with no fault to this video. Admit it, riding in straight lines on a motorcycle is boring. Riding this road at the posted speed limit is still a beautiful experience. Watching someone ride this road, this well, at this speed is second only to admiring the naked human body.

The smoother drivers and riders will ALWAYS make the dragon look easier then the folks trying to go fast. True skill comes with smooth inputs and well thought out lines, both rider and driver are showing just that.

The guys that pile their bikes up acting like they are on a track are going to with this video posted or not. Videos on the internet have little to do with real life stupid.

I have a video of my PC800 (aka Pacific Coast) going through the Dragon. The camera was mounted to the PC. My video is only 6.5 minutes longer than Killboy's.
I know Killboy and bike rider were going the posted speed limit *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*
Great vid.

AWESOME pass shows you that you can have fun and stay in your own lane. Plus smoothness also helps ask him or her LOL BUT where was KILLBOY LOL he should have gotten that guy's/girls pic LOL by far the cleanest pass i've seen in a while one car thats crazy and they pulled over AWESOME good video killboy !!

awesome vid. Full screen on my 21.5 imac was sweet! I could imagine the screen on a 27" imac.

People need to start taking responsibility for themselves. If someone actually is influenced to ride way beyond their skill level, then crashes or scares the shit out of himself or herself, that is NOT CAUSED by the video but by one's own sense of insecurity or arrogance. I loved watching this, cannot ride like that, and only wish to ride better every year to ride as well as I can.

Is there a you tube of the Zeppelin mix? I can't find it the darn thing.

Oh yeah forgot to say...........

Bloody good video.

I like the stable camera platform rather than the camera leaning on a chase bike.
